Believe the Truth

So many people don’t want to believe in God. Why? Because it would mean that they have to give up the “comfort” of their lifestyle. Some people don’t like the idea of having some sort of authority over their lives or some higher being to answer to. And please, heaven and hell? Isn’t that just some fairy tale that religious folk made up so that they’d feel better about death? They all think they’re going to be floating on clouds while people who don’t believe get sent to burn for all eternity? What kind of a God does that??? If there was a God why is there so much evil in the world? Why do people die tragically? Why do innocent people lose loved ones?  “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord?  Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”

We like to put God (or the idea of God) in our own human boxes trying to make sense of (or make nonsense of) GOD. What makes us think, as finite humans who eventually die, that we’re going to understand everything there is to understand about life?? And that we have to understand a ka-billion and one things about life/God to believe in God? How does someone who studies the Universe, or the human body or interactions between plants and animals in an ecosystem not see the incredible, marvelous and wonderful, purposeful design (which has complete order and structure) and still not believe in a Creator?? I feel like the evidence is all around us. However, because people don’t want to believe in God, they claim atheism and go about living their lives however they see fit. Nothing will change those who choose not to believe. Even if God showed up in the flesh and performed crazy miracles, people still wouldn’t believe. Wait isn’t that what Jesus did? People who witnessed the life and death and resurrection of Jesus still did not believe. Dios mio, what will it take?

Seriously, what’s so scary and wrong about trying to find out if God exists or not? Forget about religions and what other people believe. I know there are a lot of clashing thoughts and controversies about God but most people (cultures) can agree that there is a single God. Not that that is a reason for you to automatically believe in God but wouldn’t you like to find out if they’re right and if so, wouldn’t you like to get to know what He is all about?  Forget all your misconceptions. Forget what those hypocritical Christians told you. Forget what other faiths believe for a second. Because really, not a single person’s beliefs have any effect on the Truth. Truth is truth is truth. The truth is I just ate an egg sandwich whether you were there to witness is or not. Nothing can change the fact that I ate an egg sandwich because it’s a fact. It’s not open to interpretation. There’s no double meaning behind it. It’s not relative. So whether you want to believe it or not, I ate an egg sandwich today, and that is the truth. There can only be one truth. There is only one way things happen in time. So, that being said, don’t you want to know the truth about why you’re here, if you were created, if you have some sort of purpose in life that is Creator-given? Don’t you want to know if there is life after death and what that will be like, and if the way you live your life now will have any effect on life after life on Earth? If you could discover what type of life would allow you to have maximum joy and fulfillment, wouldn’t you want to know what that is? I know I do!

I know there is a Creator. And I don’t believe because I need to feel better about death or I need to belong to an organized religion (really I don’t agree with religions, only Truth) or I need comfort. Because really, knowing there is a God and living a life to serve Him and carry out His purposes for Him is no easy thing. However, I understand that I don’t have much control over what happens in my life. No one does. And that fact that we cannot cure death or heal the Earth that we have so wrongly mistreated goes to show that we have no control. God is in control. The wisest thing a human being can do is submit and surrender to the Creator who is in control of everything, to the God who is the very definition of Love.  And I want everyone to experience the joy I experience in Him. I want to share Him with the world because I know how wonderful He is. That’s it. You want to find fault in me for that, go ahead. I’m not trying to shove my beliefs down anyone’s throat (forgive me if I ever have). And I don’t think I’m better than anyone. Just want people to know that there is a God that just wants to love you and have you love him back. Jesus died so that we, an imperfect people, can have a relationship with the perfect God. It’s not just “going to heaven.” It’s being one with the creator and being reconciled also to each other and the rest of creation. Isn’t that what this broken world needs? Peace love and togetherness. That’s what God is all about.

Don’t base your belief or lack of belief in God on the actions of people. We are flawed. If you seek the truth, you will find it. So forget about religions and hypocrites. What have you got to lose? Seek the truth. I dare you.

If there is anyone out there who is truly seeking and is interested in my beliefs, holla at me.

Job 28

Job Speaks of Wisdom and Understanding

1 “People know where to mine silver
      and how to refine gold.
2 They know where to dig iron from the earth
and how to smelt copper from rock.
3 They know how to shine light in the darkness
and explore the farthest regions of the earth
as they search in the dark for ore.
4 They sink a mine shaft into the earth
      far from where anyone lives.
They descend on ropes, swinging back and forth.
5 Food is grown on the earth above,
but down below, the earth is melted as by fire.
6 Here the rocks contain precious lapis lazuli,
      and the dust contains gold.
7 These are treasures no bird of prey can see,
      no falcon’s eye observe.
    8 No wild animal has walked upon these treasures;
no lion has ever set his paw there.
9 People know how to tear apart flinty rocks
and overturn the roots of mountains.
10 They cut tunnels in the rocks
      and uncover precious stones.
11 They dam up the trickling streams
and bring to light the hidden treasures.

12 “But do people know where to find wisdom?
      Where can they find understanding?
13 No one knows where to find it,
for it is not found among the living.
14 ‘It is not here,’ says the ocean.
‘Nor is it here,’ says the sea.
15 It cannot be bought with gold.
It cannot be purchased with silver.
16 It’s worth more than all the gold of Ophir,
greater than precious onyx or lapis lazuli.
17 Wisdom is more valuable than gold and crystal.
It cannot be purchased with jewels mounted in fine gold.
18 Coral and jasper are worthless in trying to get it.
The price of wisdom is far above rubies.
19 Precious peridot from Ethiopia cannot be exchanged for it.
It’s worth more than the purest gold.

20 “But do people know where to find wisdom?
      Where can they find understanding?
21 It is hidden from the eyes of all humanity.
Even the sharp-eyed birds in the sky cannot discover it.
   22 Destruction and Death say,
‘We’ve heard only rumors of where wisdom can be found.’

   23 “God alone understands the way to wisdom;
he knows where it can be found,
24 for he looks throughout the whole earth
and sees everything under the heavens.
25 He decided how hard the winds should blow
and how much rain should fall.
26 He made the laws for the rain
and laid out a path for the lightning.
27 Then he saw wisdom and evaluated it.
He set it in place and examined it thoroughly.
28 And this is what he says to all humanity:
   ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom;
to forsake evil is real understanding.’”

My new favorite Psalm:

Psalm 34

1I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

11Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

12What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

13Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

20He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

22The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Matthew 5

   3
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Reality check:

Some of your dreams will come true, others will never.
This many be hard to accept but you really only have limited control over your life.

Sometimes, you just have to have new dreams.

I want to travel the world.
